Our volunteers are integral to our work and we are grateful to everyone who sets aside time to get involved in our work promoting mental wellness in our community.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteers are able to work with our Board of Directors to gain valuable work experience in their chosen area, whether it is programming, fundraising, graphic design, communications, or community outreach.

We are happy to offer reference letters and/or recommendations to those who volunteer with us for a minimum 3 months (or one semester for those in university/college) and who fulfill their weekly or monthly agreed volunteer hours.

Volunteer Opportunities

While we are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in volunteering, we are currently looking for volunteers in these areas:

Our youth board members help advise MHANS on mental health issues that are important to teens as well as help spread the word about positive mental health at their schools and in their communities. Youth board members will also have a leadership role in our annual essay contest by helping to select this year’s essay contest topic and serve as youth judges for the contest. This program can provide a wide array of opportunities in the areas of leadership, community organizing, and networking with other teens and helping to change attitudes about mental illness.

Meetings are held on a quarterly basis and each member is expected to attend 3 meetings per year as well as an end of the year celebration. Our first meeting is on Tuesday, September 28th from 4pm-5pm and will be held virtually.
