Sunday, June 1, Naomi Ruth Cohen Foundation seventh annual community conference on depression: "Women's Voices--Understanding Mental Health Issues of Women and Girls" 12:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Beth Emet the Free Synagogue, 1224 Dempster, Evanston, IL. Co-sponsored by MHANS, this conference is open to everyone who wants to know more about mental illness and the solutions available. The Mental Health Association of the North Shore has speakers available on various subjects, including mental health and social-emotional wellness, depression, suicide prevention, social-emotional learning (SEL), substance abuse prevention and counseling, teen issues, neurobiological disorders such as schizophrenia, anxiety, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and other disorders, and the stigma often attached to mental health treatment.
